American Corners American Corners are partnerships between the U.S. Embassy and major universities in Indonesia. American Corners provide access to current, accurate and reliable information about the political, economic, cultural, educational and social life in the United States via a collection of books, magazines and journals, CD- ROMs, DVDs and access to internet and online databases, and through local programming to the general public. Did you know…? The number of U.S. visas issued to Indonesian students has risen by 25% over the past two years. Under the Higher Education Partnership, the U.S. will invest over $165 million from 2010- 2014 to promote educational cooperation with Indonesia. English Language Fellow Program The EL Fellow Program fosters mutual understanding, promotes English language learning and enhances English teaching capacity abroad. –Through projects sponsored by U.S. embassies, EL Fellows share their professional expertise, hone their skills, gain international experience and learn about other cultures. –EL Fellows model and demonstrate up-to-date TEFL classroom practices that help foster thoughtful and responsible behavior in students and teachers of English. http://exchanges.state.gov/us/program/english-language-fellow-program#sthash.tqDG1TZ5.dpuf

Fulbright English Teaching Assistant The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program places recent college graduates and young professionals as English teaching assistants in primary and secondary schools or universities overseas –Improving foreign students English language abilities and knowledge of the United States while increasing the U.S. student's own language skills and knowledge of the host country. –ETAs may also pursue individual study/research plans in addition to their teaching responsibilities. –http://exchanges.state.gov/us/program/fulbright-english-teaching-assistant-program#sthash.47odIqSq.dpuf

The website is a collaborative effort among between English Language Fellows (ELFs), Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs), Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) and local Indonesian English teachers. 2.
