1 ~MEDITATION~ Romans 12:6-8 Romans 12:6-8 (NIV) 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

In OT times, Scriptural revelation came through prophets, and in NT times through apostles or close associates of apostles. Prophecy referred to in chs. 12-14 could come through any member of the church (vv. 26, 29-31). It could be a prediction (Agabus, Ac 11:28; 21:10-11), a divine directive (Ac 13:1-2) or a message designed to strengthen, encourage or comfort (v. 3).”
