Carlos Gouveia Programa Prof2000 O TRENDS was an european project aimed at the development of an in-service, school-based teachers training model, using multimedia telematics, thus being a flexible, distance learning environment, to support the continuous professional development of teachers in secondary Education ( Jan 96 e Dez 98) O Prof2000 inherits a training model and the practice for 3 years 99 escolas, 35 Teacher’s Training Centres and support Training centre is Prof2000’s network. Carlos Gouveia Programa Prof2000 Based upon a solid partnership between DREC/ME and PT-Inovação it was possible to build the Human network of inovative teachers in the Schools in the Teacher’s Training Centres in the Training Centre Prof2000 Prof2000 The Human Network
Carlos Gouveia Programa Prof2000 Prof2000 Prof2000 Training Model Prof2000 promotes and delivers training courses wich are designed and deployed by a network of local Teacher’s Training Centres; Based upon a network of school leaders and one Support Training Centre; Prof2000 courses are designed considering the need to receive official recognition, the users needs and the ICT potential in Education; Each course / workshop lasts an average of 50 h (25 On-line / 25 Off- Line) 8 to 10 weeks. It’s a mixture of a virtual classroom and independent study supported by a the local School Leaders.

Carlos Gouveia Programa Prof2000 Methodology: Trial and error working in a multidisciplinar team; Technical autonomy of the schools supported by the School Leader; Strongly related with each school community; Working close with the Local Training Centres Strong commitment of the actors involved: (School leaders, Trainers and the Support Training Centre) Online Training became easy to participate, confortable, cost effective and globaly available; Good institutional support by ME/DREC; Highly qualified techical support by PT Inovação.
