4 2. Warranty Coverage Kumho Tires are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship in normal use on the vehicle for the life of the original usable tread. The life of original usable tread shall be ended when the 1.6mm (2/32nds of an inch) of tread remain. Non adjustable condition - Road hazards such as punctures, cuts, scuffs or impact breaks. - Improper inflation, overloading, improper mounting or demounting. - Run flat, irregular wear due to misalignment. - Tire worn beyond treadwear indicator. - Ride disturbance caused by misalignment, damaged wheel or wheel imbalance. 2. 5 3. KUMHO Compensation Policy A. Free Replacement If a KUMHO tire fails as a result of workmanship or material defect during the first 25% wear rate compared to original tread depth for passenger radial tire, and the first 10% wear rate compared to original tread depth for the other tires, free replacement will be applied. 3. Pro-rated Replacement If a KUMHO tire fails as a result of workmanship or material defect over 25% wear rate compared to the original usable tread depth for passenger radial tire and the first 10% wear rate compared to original tread depth for the other tires, pro-rated replacement will be applied. Namely, the claim adjustment will be done in proportion of the remaining usable tread depth. (R.T.D.-T.W.I.) Compensation amount = P x x (1 + rate of tax & expenses) (O.T.D.-T.W.I.) 3. 7 C. Ride Complaint If KUMHO tire fails due to the out of balance tire, the out of round tire within 10% wear rate of the original casing life, free replacement will be applied. Whereas, KUMHO can not guarantee the claim tire which is the out of balance tire, the out of round tire over 10% wear rate of the original casing life. 3. KUMHO Compensation Policy

10 1.Tire Inspection Procedure A. Confirm the brand name : KH, MS, RC B. Check the tire Size / Pattern / Ply Rating C. Check the DOT No. or Serial No.(for TB) D. Measure the Remaining Tread Depth(RTD) E. Check the tire condition (Tread wear condition, Any damage or evidence for repairing, etc.) : Tread -> Sidewall -> Bead -> Inside F. Inspect the damaged parts. G. Explain the condition & the cause of damage to the customer.

17 Probable Causes Preventions Sidewall Indentation - Originated by the joint overlap of cord sheet during the manufacturing process. - It cause the difference of the expansion between the section of overlapping and non overlapping. - The indentation is a common characteristic of radial tires and will not affect the performance or the safety of the tire. So,try to explain to the customer.

22 Probable Causes Preventions - The breakage of the body ply cords due to impact from the outside.(sidewalk / puddle / hole etc.) - Maintain proper air pressure - Avoid high-speed driving. - When a vehicle pass the obstacles,reduce the speed. Cord Break Up (CBU)

27 Probable Causes Preventions Flat Spot - Shipping or storaging condition for a long time. - Aggravated by low inflation pressure. - Park the vehicle for a long time without changing the position. - Avoid to park the vehicle for a long time. - Maintain high pressure for storage the vehicles. - Change the contacted position regularly.

31 Probable Causes Preventions Tread & Shoulder Separation(Bias Tire) - It is mainly due to underinflation. - The cause is overheating of the tire due to underinflation, which weakens the adhesive between the cord and the rubber layer. - Maintain proper air pressure and avoid overloading. - Avoid overspeed driving and sharp cornering.

37 Probable Causes Preventions Distorted Bead - Improper use of tools, or incorrect techniques used when mounting the tire. - Improper or defective rim(bent or rusty rims) - Shipping/handling damage. - Review mounting/demounting procedures and tire tools. - Use proper rim and ensure the tire beads are lubricated. - Also check new tire handling procedures.
