Hams who want to deploy with WL2K capability outside their home ARES district will be required to be certified. Certification process involves setting up the gear in a tactical setting and sending and receiving one or more messages. The setting could be a driveway, city park, grandmother’s house - anywhere to demonstrate portability of all the gear including antennas. Certification using VHF and/or HF may be accomplished - user’s choice. Certification instructions may be found on the N. FL website.
