Instead of loving God, appropriate self-love and loving others We try to use others for our own benefit Not many cooperate Most ignore, resist or oppose our attempt to use them. Anger at others and circumstances Fear of others and of circumstances Anger at ourselves for being so inadequate, pathetic True guilt for the way were living so that we Expect circumstantial punishment Open the door for our physical system to impose sentence within our bodies.
Stress Response fight or flight syndrome Anger and fear stimulate the physiological stress response and it has been found that most illness is related to unrelieved stress. (IVF.com) The long term activation of the stress response system can disrupt almost all your bodys processes increasing your risk of obesity, insomnia, digestive problems, heart disease, depression, memory impairment, physical illnesses and other complications. The immune system can run unchecked attacking your own bodys healthy cells. MayoClinic.com
James 5:14-16 1.confess your sins to each other 2.and pray for each other so that you may be healed. you sins will be forgiven. 3.Still sick? Ask Elders to pray for you the sick person will become well; the Lord will raise him up.
Confession 1 John 1:8-9 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Confess – homologeo – to speak the same thing, to acknowledge or to admit ones sin, When confronted with Gods word describing an attitude or behavior as sin, I agree that my attitude or behavior is sin
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16
Jesus healing When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Christ. Luke 4:40-41
James 5:14-16 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Deuteronomy 28:15; 20-22 However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. The LORD will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess. The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish.
James 4:1-6 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
