Volunteering at the Rowayton Library
Who can volunteer? Anyone can volunteer at the Library –If you have some time –If you have some energy –If you have the desire to help make this the best community library
What do volunteers do? Library work –Shelving –Children’s programs –Adult programs –Baking –Conversation –Covering books –Projects –Computer help –Website support Book Sale…?
What else can volunteers do? The Rowayton Library will be holding its Renovation Book Sale in May Prior to the Book Sale –Sorting books –Research the value of books –Refreshment Team –Publicity Team At the Book Sale –Cashiers –Helpers –Refreshment Team
Where can volunteers work? Some projects can be done at home Some activities are done in the Library Some activities are done upstairs on the second floor of the Community Center
When are volunteers needed? Routine Library work can be done any time the library is open for as little or as much time as you have to give Projects have their own timetable The Book Sale preparation will begin in March and commence in May (date to be determined)
Why now? The renovation of the Library will begin this summer. In preparation, we will be weeding our collection and also replacing some well-worn books with donated copies. The money raised through the sale will help add the finishing touches to the renovation.
