2 Board Adoption and Approval Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program adopted by GSD Board, April 1992

3 Update Process now begins in 7 th grade (53A- 1a-106) More guidance and support for all students in planning for high school graduation, college, career and life Process guided by Eight Components of CCR (College Board) Process involves parents as critical participants Counselors are Scaling Up the CCR-Planning process

4 CCR-Plan Meetings 80% of secondary students had at least one individual CCR-Plan meeting with their counselor Four junior high schools at 90% or higher Three high schools at 90% or higher 40% parent attendance at secondary CCR-Plan meetings Six junior highs at 50% or higher Two high schools at 50% or higher

11 Positive Behavior and Mental Health Elementary Counseling Grant Awarded October 2012 Five schools (Hillsdale, Redwood, Oquirrh Hills, Taylorsville, Academy Park) Full-time counseling professional in each grant school Emphasis on positive behavior and mental health Suicide Prevention USOE licensing requirements School based training (social workers, psychologists, counselors) UMTSS Grant Principal PD School-wide PD Positive Behavior and Bully Prevention
