The Process For Graduation with BS ▫S▫Semester 10 (Fall Semester Senior) AApply for degree online MMust apply by February 3, 2011 ▫U▫ULink DDegree checks with Ms. Murphy and Ms. Hansford WWill receive emails ▫I▫If there are any deficiencies in regard to your degree application, you will be contacted by email. ▫I▫If everything is ok, you will probably not receive any confirming correspondence. However, please feel free to contact Ms. Hansford if you have any questions as to the status of your degree application. IIf you are missing 1 or 2 non-BE courses, you may still walk at graduation, but you will not receive your diploma until all degree requirements have been met.

MEng Program Apply for the MEng Program ▫You can apply if you are within 6 credit hours of completing your BS degree
MEng Application Requirements Completion of a program of studies equivalent to that obtained through the Division of Pre- Engineering and Basic Studies for the field of Bioengineering ▫This includes one calendar year of cooperative education, or the equivalent in full-time employment, within the biomedical or bioengineering device or process industries.
MEng Application Requirements A cumulative baccalaureate program grade-point average of 2.75/4.00 for unconditional acceptance. ▫However, those students with cumulative baccalaureate GPAs of 2.5-2.75 may be admitted on a provisional basis by submitting a formal petition to the faculty of the Bioengineering Department. Provisional means – must maintain a GPA of 2.8 during all semesters of MEng Program
MEng Application Requirements Applications for admission to the M.Eng. MEng Application Requirements Recommendations by the faculty and chair of the Department of Bioengineering for admission or readmission to the Division of Higher Studies. ▫After the BE Department receives the applications Nancy Hansford presents the list of applicants to the BE Department faculty who determine whether to recommend for the MEng program. ▫Unconditionally accepted students will be recommended. ▫Probationary students will be evaluated on a case- by-case basis. ▫Ms. Hansford will send you an email response.
MEng Acceptance If Accepted you will receive a letter/email ▫If the student does not meet requirements for admissions, but does meet guidelines for provisional admittance, the OAP will send a letter to the student advising him or her of that, and will tell the student they need to submit the petition. MENG year starts in the summer ▫Must decide if thesis or non-thesis option BEFORE you start the MENG program In order to determine which courses to take
MEng Objectives To acquire the advanced level academic expertise and practical engineering experience necessary to function as bioengineering professionals in a modern, ever-changing world. (Advanced Knowledge and Life-long Learning) To demonstrate competence by being selected for employment by industrial, academic or government entities or pursue further professional/graduate studies. (Career Opportunities) To understand the broad, social, ethical and professional issues of contemporary engineering practice. (Awareness and Responsibility)
