Hungary Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Ukraine, and Romania to the east, Serbia, and Croatia to the south, Slovenia to the southwest and Austria to the west.
The cities of Hungary The country's capital, and largest city, is Budapest. There are some big cities in Hungary, e.g. Győr, Miskolc, Debrecen, Kecskemét, Szeged, Pécs, Szombathely. About 10 million people live in our country.

The history of our capital city In the Roman times there was a very important settlement in this place. It was called Aquincum. In the Middle Ages the city developed a lot. In 1873 Buda and Pest were united.
