IB Phrases to Know SL – Standard Level: A course that has 150 seat hours. Students must take three SL courses. HL – Higher Level: A course that has 240 seat hours. Students must take three HL courses. * NOTE * In some instances, a student may take four HL classes and two SL classes.
IB Phrases to Know Internal Assessment: An evaluation instrument that is graded by the teacher but is moderated by another teacher somewhere in the world. External Assessment: The culminating exam given in May of a students senior year
