1 Porsche Acceleration IV Product training Cayenne, Cayenne S & Cayenne Turbo
Model year 2005 (June 2004)

2 By the end of this presentation, you will...
know the MY 05 changes to the product features and their use for the customer have detailed information about the changes that will be available at the beginning of the model year 05

3 More value for the money More individul options
Changes for Cayenne, MY 05 More value for the money More individul options Minor changes

4 Changes for Cayenne, MY 05

5 Changed product features: Shift on the move
Shift on the move simplifies the use of the reduction gear! Changed product features: Shift on the move Activation or deactivation of the reduction gear is possible when driving slowly. Use of this function is ideal for driving with a trailer (start in low range mode and switch to high range later) and off-road touring. Change of ratio possible up to 15 km/h from high range to low range mode 30 km/h from low range to high range mode Only in combination with Tiptronic S Shift on the move can only be activated in position “N”. Low range ≤ 15 km/ ≤ 30 km/h High range

6 Changed product features: Shift on the move (2)
Shift on the move simplifies the use of the reduction gear! Changed product features: Shift on the move (2) Shift on the move can be activated in two ways: alternative 1: first switch off-road control, then N (within a time interval of approx seconds) alternative 2: first N, then switch off-road control With both alternatives, a return to “D” is not possible until the reduction gear is engaged. When resuming drive in different mode (low or high range), a gear is preselected that corresponds to the vehicle‘s speed. Low range ≤ 15 km/h ≤ 30 km/h High range

7 Changed product features: Shift on the move (3)
Shift on the move simplifies the use of the reduction gear! Changed product features: Shift on the move (3) the technological basis (synchronisation) for the implementation of Shift on the move already existed when the Cayenne series was introduced. What was missing was a software solution which is now available. Important: when using Shift on the move while driving up or down slopes, speed is reduced or increased respectively as the vehicle is in “N” mode for a certain time. merely two competitors have a comparable function VW Touareg Range Rover Low Range ≤ 15 km/h ≤ 30 km/h High Range

8 Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme
Trailer Stability Programme increases active safety when driving with a trailer! Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme

9 Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (2)
Trailer Stability Programme increases active safety when driving with a trailer! Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (2) is a function of the PSM that increases active safety when driving with a trailer. the system stabilises the car-trailer combination and not just the trailer. the system detects swerving motions of the car-trailer combination and then slows all four wheels until the car-trailer combination has been stabilised. swerving motions are detected by the sensors the Cayenne is already fitted with (steering angle, lateral acceleration and yaw velocity). the system is deactivated in US-version (PCNA, PCA, PLA) vehicles. when the system cuts in, the PSM warning light in the display lights up. control system operational: when PSM is active from approx. 65 to 180 km/h

10 Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (3)
Reference Trailer Stability Programme increases active safety when driving with a trailer! Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (3) operating information: switching off the PSM also deactivates the Car-Trailer Stabilisation. Car-Trailer Stabilisation is active when the brake pedal is actuated even if the PSM is switched off. electrically retractable towbar system must be fully extended and in final position. important warning notices: the system can not stabilise the car-trailer combination if the trailer breaks away (e.g. on slippery roads or loose surfaces). trailers with a high centre of gravity can topple over. even the control system can not suspend the physical laws of the universe! steering should be carried out cautiously during control system adjustments.

11 Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (4)
Reference Trailer Stability Programme increases active safety when driving with a trailer! Changed product features: PSM-Trailer Stability Programme (4) conditions for the function of the control system: trailer connector is plugged in the trailer is in perfect technical condition

12 Changed product features: PSM - ABD optimisation
A traction-oriented off-road control strategy optimises the use of the ABD! Changed product features: PSM - ABD optimisation for off-road use, the ABD has been expanded by a traction-oriented off-road control strategy. a special control strategy has been implemented in high range mode. starting or driving on sand and also the performance on gravel and scree has been further improved through the ABD optimisation. especially when driving on sand, which is usually done in high range mode, traction is notably improved.

13 Changed product features: all-season tyres
All-season tyres guarantee a high level of driving safety in all weather conditions! Changed product features: all-season tyres systematic optimisation of tyre mixture and tyre tread is a good compromise between summer and winter tyres. tyres come with M&S designation and are suitable for winter. good traction and braking properties on snow and ice enough lateral support forces can be transmitted via the developed tyres to facilitate a sportier style of driving. so far, these tyres have only been employed by PCNA. summer tyres 255/55 R18 all-season tyres 255/55 R18 winter tyres 235/60 R18

14 Changed product features: PASM & servohydraulics
Finer tuning of the chassis with PASM and a new servo-oil cooler! Changed product features: PASM & servohydraulics PASM optimisation greater comfort in the “Comfort” and “Normal” programmes through modification of the sensors already installed in vehicles that have been produced since calendar week 2 Optimisation of the servohydraulics employment of a new servo-oil cooler the new servo-oil cooler reduces pressure loss in the system and is cheaper.

15 Changed product features: matching coat of paint

Only the lining of the side compartment in the luggage compartment and the drawer under the passenger seat undergo modification! Changed product features: drawer and side compartment installation of the DVD navigation eliminates the drawer side compartment lining drawer under passenger's seat side compartment in luggage compartment

20 Changed product features: PCM - DVD navigation system
Employment of DVD technology improves the PCM navigation module even further! Changed product features: PCM - DVD navigation system larger memory capacity: CD-ROM max. 682 MB / DVD used max. 4.7 GB now only a single DVD for all of Europe or USA faster access system takes less time to boot graphics are displayed more rapidly map zoom is quicker and smoother due to the external installation of the DVD drive, the PCM module's CD drive can always be used for audio playback. off-road navigation can now store not only one but up to five “backtraces” (routes that were recorded previously).

21 Changed product features: PCM - DVD navigation system (2)
Employment of DVD technology improves the PCM navigation module even further! Changed product features: PCM - DVD navigation system (2) DVD drive is installed under the passenger's seat. This eliminates the drawer and the option of storing the fire extinguisher underneath the passenger's seat (in combination with PCM). DVD drive can only play navigation DVDs and not movie DVDs.
