I have the colt revolvers, shot guns or rifles, repeater rifles, ironclad ships, submarines, torpedoes, hot air balloons, hand grenades, flame throwers, and the minie ball bullet just to name a few.
I have on April 9, 1865 when General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Gen Ulysses S. Grant.
Who has what the Dred Scott case/decision was?
I have a case where a slave, Dred Scott, sued for his freedom based on the fact that at one time he had lived in a free territory. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court. In the end they ruled against him – he was to remain a slave.
Who has why the loss of Virginia was a major blow to the North?
I have that it was across from Washington DC (way toooooo close for comfort!), Robert E. Lee followed Virginia, and psychologically Virginia is the home of presidents.
Who has the reason the Election of 1860 was unique?
I have that the Democrat Party was split, Lincoln was not even put on the ballot in the South and that Lincoln won with less than a clear margin.
I have May 10, 1865 when Jefferson Davis surrendered the Confederacy.
Who has the advantages the North had during the war?
I have a large population, better banking/financial system, and established transportation network (canals, railroads and roads), manufatoring, a strong navy, extensive farm land and controlled shipping to name a few.
Who has the definition of “Popular Sovereignty”?
I have that it is allowing the people of each state to right to decide on the issue of slavery.
Do you see it? No, really look;, it’s right there! It’s the light at the end of the tunnel!!!!
Who has what the Gettysburg Address talked about?
I have freedom, liberty, independence and commitment to form a more perfect union.
Who has what happened to you if you got drafted?
I have that if you could afford to buy your way out you could, planters did not have to fight – they were exempt, you could get someone to fight in your place otherwise you had to fight. This is why there would be draft riots in the North.
Who has the first official battle of the Civil War?
I have the Battle of Bull Run / Battle of Manassass.
So, how did you do? If you can answer these I have questions, you will ace the test!
