Alabama Schools Library Week November 8-13, 2009
Daily Announcements Each morning a different student made an announcement promoting Alabama School Libraries Week. The message was personalized when the student described the importance of reading in their life. They mentioned their favorite books and why they enjoyed reading. Pictured above is Rebecca Oliver making the morning announcement.
Students come during their break to check in and out books and to read in the library.
Begin with a great book! Triston Knight chose a sports book to read. He looks pretty excited about what he is about to read!
READ a book and WRITE a review After reading the book, each student wrote a book review to be used on a bulletin board in the hall outside the library.
Book Review The book review asked for the title of the book, the author, and a short review of the book. Christin Lackey wrote her book review on the book, Holes, written by Louis Sachar.
The Drawing All the book reviews were placed in a large box and at the end of the day on Friday, we drew one to be the winner of a “goody basket” full of school supplies, books and snacks.
And the WINNER is…. LAURA NALL !!! She was thrilled with her basket! Pictured with Laura is (l) Mrs. Leslie Reyes, Media Aide and (r) Mrs. Carri Hamiter, Media Specialist at ACMS.
