Today we worked on our Fashion Dance. We added a sports section for 32 counts Then added it all together. We did peer feedback.
Today in class we started off the class with reflection. We talked about Margie Gilles and her teaching methods like: reaching through things and not to them, moving from the centers of our body, not afraid to look silly, and feeling the energy and air when we moved. After that we did basic movements like moving our wrists. Then we got into our pairs and we traveled around them using negative and positive space.
Today in class we thought about some story books we can dance to. We also did partner work focusing on positive and negative space again. Today in class we learned about teaching methods for when we go to Arcola school.
“I felt like there was no one else in the room.” I felt nervous because it was a new class new people. Now meeting them, I’m excited to get to dance class to see Carley and Carolina and Ashley.
Lauren and I did a movement where she went down onto her hands and knees and I put my hands on her back. We also did one movement where Lauren went underneath my arms. We did a movement called Locomotion. My favourite was when I was moving my arms.
It was because my friends were there. One wall was full of mirrors. Liked the music we used for are fashion walks. I liked when we moved really fast. It was better with a partner because there was two of us thinking of ideas.
1. I like dancing because I can express myself, and I enjoy moving and being active. Dance allows me to relieve stress, and helps me to forget all of my problems. 2. I like dancing because I have so much fun doing it! I feel safe and encouraged when I dance with my friends. 3. Teaching dance is a very rewarding feeling knowing that I am teaching children new movements and giving them confidence.
