Conservation of Momentum  The total momentum of a closed system (no outside impulses) remains constant  Momentum Before = Momentum After  p 1 + p 2 = p 1 ’ + p 2 ’

Collisions  Momentum is conserved  Momentum before: m 1 v 1 + m 2 v 2  Momentum after: m 1 v 1 ’ + m 2 v 2 ’  Momentum before = Momentum after
