Example: Solve each equation. Check your answer. ONE STEP a. x – 8 = 0 x – 8 + 8 = 0 + 8 x = 8 b. 4c = -96 4c = -96 4 c = -24 n / 6 = 5 n / 6 (6) = 5(6) n = 30 3 / 4 x = 9 ( 4 / 3 ) 3 / 4 x = 9( 4 / 3 ) x = 12
