What type of support is available to meet our school-community integration goals and improve student outcomes?
Potential Support By the JGC: Academy for Community Youth Development To support a “lead school” in Redwood City through a 3-year process to: Develop and implement strategic action plans that transform a subset of these schools into community schools
What would the plan involve? A common vision set by various stakeholders A set of desired outcomes and indicators for school-aged youth A set of baseline data for key indicators A plan with strategies that achieve the vision Performance measures to track progress A system for tracking that progress
What are the added benefits of participation? See successful community schools at work Trainings and planning time with lead practitioners and researchers Funding to support full participation Intensive technical support between sessions Peer learning opportunities with Coastside Opportunities for leveraging additional resources
What does participation involve? Formation of a leadership team to develop and implement plans Participation in site visits Participation in quarterly academy sessions (1-3 days) Commitment to work on plan implementation between sessions Share and apply lessons, plans, and tools with other Redwood City sites
