2 DEFINITION  Democracy is a government run by the people who live under it.  The community is governed through its representatives who are elected.  Do we have a representative in this class?

3 WHAT DOES DEMOCRACY LOOK LIKE? 1) People govern themselves through representatives.

4 WHAT DOES DEMOCRACY LOOK LIKE? 2) The populations elects the representatives from their area to make laws.

5 3) People and the media have freedom of speech.

6 4)People can worship any Gods or follow any religion.

7 WHAT DOES DEMOCRACY LOOK LIKE? 5) People are allowed to live and work where they want within the country.

8 WHAT DOES DEMOCRACY LOOK LIKE?  6) People vote freely and secretly.
