Generally it seeks to encourage some sort of learning in the viewer. To learn well: An individual should be motivated to learn An individual should engage with the content The delivery of the content should encourage recall of previous knowledge or related experiences of the content An individual should maintain attention for the time necessary for learning to happen. A combination of words, sounds and images has been shown to best induce learning.
