The Olive Branch Petition Delegates from the Continental Congress really did not want to go to war with Britian. Congress made one more try at peace with Britian. In July 1775, the delegates sent King George III the Olive Branch Petition. Which was a symbol of peace. This was sent to end the conflict. King George did not even read the Olive Branch Petition. Instead he sent some soldiers to the colonies.
