Climate Ready Support Service Government commitment to help deliver the National Adaptation Plan Environment Agency given role in April 2012. Building on the previous work of the UK Climate Impacts Programme. Two delivery components: Online provision Targeted support to key sectors
The challenge Supply The process of moving to GOV.UK and the requirements of GOV.UK which may not be suitable for all of our current content and tools. Limited resources for digital development and advertising and promotion. Limited specialist digital skills on the project team or Environment Agency specialist teams. Demand The crowded market, in which numerous organisations offer information on climate change issues. The breadth of the programme and the large number of (potential) different users. The lack of general demand for Climate Change ‘adaptation’ information and services among some core user groups.
Key point: Find the right entry point to attract new users
Key resources already exist Authoritative source of information on future climate Complex for non- expert users Desire for derived information - impacts
Summary Start of building an online service to support Climate Ready Extensive use of market research to understand and target audiences. Focus is on: Using existing pathways to embed relevant adaptation information Forming partnerships to join-up the information landscape Improving accessibility to existing information to support risk assessment and management task
