Starting Points Community learning and development practitioners have always been working towards the Curriculum for Excellence capacities We need to move as quickly as possible to a point where we don’t mention Curriculum for Excellence as an initiative or development Much of the CPD work we have been doing over a number of years has been preparing us for Curriculum for Excellence BUT There are specific challenges and learning agendas that we need to address
Specific CPD Activity Development Day 1 – May 2010 Re-visiting the big ideas Developing shared understanding Exploring the scope for collaboration Action planning Development Day 2 – September 2010 Re-visiting the big ideas (again) Familiarising people with the experiences and outcomes Exploring the achievement agenda Action planning
Development Day 3 – November 2010 Developing tools and resources Integrating CfE components with core processes Strengthening outcome focused planning and assessment Developing core messages for stakeholders Guidance and achievement
Our Approach to the CPD Including partners at all stages – an open invitation Starting where people are – locating CfE in their practice and experience Engaging and involving staff in the design and delivery of activities Adopting active and cooperative learning methodologies Bringing in external stimulus to inform and challenge (Youthlink, HMIe and LT Scotland)
