Quality Assurance (QA) All the activities and functions concerned with the attainment of quality in a company including safety Other terms include –Quality Management Programme (QMP) –Quality Management System (QMS) –Total Quality Management (TQM) ??

Good Manufacturing Practice..those procedures for a particular manufacturing operation which practitioners of, and experts in, that operation consider to be the best available using current knowledge. Also called Pre-requisite Programmes Now mostly associated with hygiene/sanitation –SSOP (Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures) but also other company functions –storage practices, incoming material, equipment maintenance, cold store management, etc.
