2 Write six (6) short paragraphs (not 3.8) describing times in the recent past when you’ve used language (1) to inform, (2) to convince, (3) to persuade, (4) to explore, (5) to make decisions, and (6) to meditate and pray. Be sure to write at least one paragraph for each of these six purposes.

3 Using your textbook, read Chapter Two, “ Arguments Based on Emotion: Pathos,” pages Also read and comment on the red exercises on pages 42, 44, and 49. Mark the text and/or take notes as you read. Complete Reading Response Journal. Using the magazine you were supposed to bring to class, complete # 2 on page 51 in class, upon completion of reading. Be prepared to discuss in class tomorrow. For HOMEWORK, complete #4 on page 51.
