What is a Magnetosphere? Magnetic field around a planet, typically generated by an active metalic core Protects from charged particles of solar winds Protects from radiation
Earth's Magnetosphere Powerful enough to protect the atmosphere from solar wind abrasions Particles deflected into the solar cusp collide with the atmosphere creating Auroras.
Mars's Magnetosphere Potentially active core in the past, now largely inactive Largely unprotected from the solar winds Small deposits of strong magnetic material create small areas of magnetic protection
