3 The Modern Classic In 1810, Wilhelm von Humboldt’s vision for a new type of university became reality. His vision:  to uphold the ideal of research without restrictions  to provide an all-round education  the unity of research and teaching These principles soon became general practice throughout the world. A new era of university and academic research had begun.

6 Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin Internationales Büro Matthias Parske Study programmes of particular relevance for EMA-2 Generally, all study programmes - Undergraduate, Master and doctoral courses - at HU (except Medicine) are open to applicants for EMA-2 mobility grants. you may apply for programme studies (without degree) for degree studies please note – for acceptance in degree studies the official accession criteria of the respective program apply and you must provide all documents in the format as requested by the program – this may be provided, however after a selection for an EMA grant and its conditional confirmation. EMA grants do not cover study periods at the foreign partner universities in International programs.
