Two Year project supported by the ESA Support to Science Element programme and CNES Objectives: Build a sound scientific basis for new applications of CryoSat-2 data over the open ocean, polar ocean, coastal seas and for sea-floor mapping. Generate and evaluate new methods and products that will enable the full exploitation of the capabilities of the CryoSat-2 SIRAL altimeter, and extend their application beyond the initial mission objectives. Ensure that the scientific return of the CryoSat-2 mission is maximised. Preparation for Sentinel-3, Jason C-S The CP4O Project

Review progress in WP4000 and review early draft versions of deliverables from WP4000: D4.1 Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document, D4.2 Product Validation Report Review and consolidate planned activities to Third Review Point (Autumn 2013) – which is primarily completion of WP4000 Identify and critical dependencies and major risks

7 Suggested Questions: WP2000 Does the “Preliminary Analysis Report” (D2.1) provide a complete analysis of the state of the art for SAR altimetry as it was on the reference date of October 2012? Are there any clear gaps or inaccuracies? Does the Development and Validation Plan (D2.2) provide a clear definition of the products to be developed and the approach to be taken? WP4000 For each of the activities / products Is the theoretical basis sound? Is the source data set and processing approach sensible? Is the time period and geographical extent of the demonstration data set appropriate? Are the validation technique and data sets suitable? General Questions - Do you have any changes to suggest in the products being developed and the validation approach being applied (bearing in mind finite resources of project)? - Are there any potentially important products / applications not being covered?
