Odysseus and The Land of the Dead Odysseus seeks his destiny Odysseus is going to the Land of the Dead to see Teirêsias: – blind prophet from the city of Thebes – His lack of external sight suggests the presence of TRUE insight (take notice of his in your reading)
What Odysseus Must Do: Odysseus needs to talk to Teirêsias Kirkê told Odysseus exactly what rites he must perform to bring Teirêsias up from the dead Odysseus is speaking… ** Read 31-53,

Zeus is ANGRYYY When Odysseus and his crew set sail, Zeus throws a lightning bolt that destroys the boat ALL the men drown…except Odysseus – Odysseus makes his way back to Kalypso’s island, where we originally met him in book V Odysseus, the storyteller, has now brought us up to date!!!
