1Quit Scanning Using the HP LaserJet 4345xs OverviewThe HP LaserJet 4345xs Multi-Function Printer features copying, printing, scanning, & faxing capabilities. It scans in color (printing/copying limited to black & white) to or a Scans folder on the Shared Drive. Learning Objective Independently scan documents to and to shared Scans folder using the HP LaserJet 4345xs MFP. Prerequisites account or LFCDS network login account & knowledge of use. Primary Audience LFCDS Employees AuthorKeith Gillette, Director of Information Technology InstructionsArrows change slides. Print button prints all slides to default printer. Quit exits.
2Quit Set up Scan to –OR– Folder 1.Press on the touch screen 2.Press To: –Type in the recipient address using the touch screen keyboard –The system will auto-complete LFCDS addresses 3.Press Subject: –Type in a descriptive subject using the touch screen keyboard 4.Press Settings… 1.Press Folder on the touch screen 2.Press File Name: 1.Type in a descriptive file name using the touch screen keyboard 2.Press OK 3.Check Scans on Shared drive 4.Press Folder Settings… OR Scan to Scan to Folder NOTE: Scan to Folder saves unlimited size files. Scan to fails at the mail server message size of 15MB. Use Scan to Folder for long and/or high-resolution scans.
3Quit Configure Scanning Settings 1.Press Describe Original (4) 1.Set Size, if necessary (leave at default for nonmatching sizes) 2.Set Orientation to match original 3.Set Number of Sides to match original 4.Press Page Content 1.Select Text, Photo, or Mixed to match original 2.Press OK 5.If scanning >50 pages into 1 document, press the Advanced tab 1.Select Job Mode ON 6.Press OK 2.Press /Folder Settings (11) 1.Set Color to match original (black & white scans are much smaller in size) 2.Set Type (PDF for attachment or Kurzweil OCR; JPEG for picture editing) 3.Select Resolution (75 DPI for Web photos, 300 DPI for printing/enlarging photos, in between for OCR) 4.Press OK 3.Press OK (10)
4Quit Scan Document 1.Load up to 50 pages in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or place 1 original on glass 2.Press Start 3.If in Multiple Page Scan Mode: 1.Load up to 50 pages in the ADF 2.Press the green Start button to continue scanning 3.Repeat preceding 2 steps until all pages are scanned 4.Press Finished on the touch screen 4.Scan will: arrive via to specified address or be saved in the Scans folder on the Shared Drive
