When I was a soldier I served for a long time in the occupied territories and in Lebanon
On many occasions I was amidst the local Arab community and I found myself under stressful and confrontational situations
Almost always I could choose between reacting in violence or otherwise ?
? An instant before my reaction…
Some were of relatives, some of friends... and some… I did not remember from whom… Voices I heard in my life, arose within me.
“We are all humans” “Arabs should be killed "“You can’t trust Arabs ""Violence leads to violence The voices inside of me sounded like this: " If you turn your back to an Arab he will stab you" " You are a good and kind person” " " And more….
Many times I was close to hitting, humiliating or killing… All these voices had a crucial deciding influence on my reaction in those critical moments… “We are all humans” “Arabs should be killed "“You can’t trust Arabs ""Violence leads to violence " If you turn your back to an Arab he will stab you" " "
Every “incidental” saying, every sentence written on the internet, every opinion said, every thought, all these… remain with others forever. That’s why it’s important for me to say:
Voices pass from one another and continue influencing the reaction of many, continuing to change reality each and every moment… “We are all one”
My voice is calling you today: Take account over what you say. IT CREATES REALITY
