Douglas County’s International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate Program is the most comprehensively rigorous curriculum available in Douglas County. It is also recognized throughout the world as the principal leader in the area of international study and education.
“If you allow it to, IB can be the extra push you need to become the best possible version of yourself. It helps you look past the football games you may miss or the fun you could be having and leads you to focus on the benefits of hard work and a quality education. It’s an opportunity to grow. That’s what IB is to me.” - Rachel Owart “A rigorous program that makes kids want to tear their hair out, but we keep at it because we know in the end, we’ll be set for our future plans in life and be some of the most well-rounded students in the world.” - Korey Brown “An amazing program that challenges your cognitive skills and helps build reliable study habits.” - Sierra Pounds “A family” - Lydia Sewell “It’s college in High School.” - Emily Johnston
Anyone! IB is for highly motivated academic students who are not afraid of being challenged.
Most IB students are involved in at least one extracurricular activity. They are active members in band, chorus, theater, sports, and academic clubs. We are proud to be part of Douglas County High School!
IB conducted surveys of students on their acceptance rates to various colleges and universities and their scores on the SAT, ACT and AP exams. IB North America received responses from 6,392 candidates from 131 schools in 29 states. The mean score of 1309 was significantly higher than the average score of the total population (1026). Diploma candidates’ mean score was even higher than the mean score obtained by Certificate candidates.
