The most popular sports in the Czech Republic are football and ice hockey. Although Czech Republic is a small country, we have some well known athletes and maybe you know their accomplishments. At Olympic games in 1998 our ice-hockey team won a gold medal. Ball games such as voleyball, floorball, basketball…are much more popular. This team sports teach you how to cooperate with others and be a part of team. There are also organized “friendly matches“ and tournaments between schools in the Czech. It's very entertaining and students enjoy it. During all year students like to do outdoor activities. They go jogging or roller blading in summer or ice-skating in winter time.
Students do not like to do track and field and gymnastics at school in PE classes.
