2. With the VM of the machine you want to clone powered off, Select the VM, then right click, and select “Manage”, “Clone”.

3. Clone form the current state.

4. Type the target directory for the clone (e.g. on an external USB hard drive).

5. This will take quite a while (even after the green bar looks complete). On my machine it was over 10 minutes When you bring the machine up the first time, it will ask if it was moved or copied. Say “moved” to preserve licensing.
