1 Greek and Roman Art The ancient Greeks created sculptural works with a beauty that has never been surpassed. The Romans, who came to dominate the Greeks, had great admiration for Greek sculptures. The Romans transported thousands of their sculptures to Rome to decorate their villas and public places. The Romans copied those Greek sculpture masterpieces and in a similar style the Romans also created great sculptures of their own.
