1 Cornerstones of CARE Annual Area Awards Timeline ActionDescriptionCompletion Date Program Communication Re-launch newly revised FY2011 Cornerstones of CARE – Health Care Area Awards Program via webinars for Hospitals & Seniors. Co-facilitating HRDs to review program description, award categories and timeline with senior area team to include all Health Care SVP’s, DM’s and HRD’s. April 28 – May 6, 2011 Nomination ProcessManagers may self-nominate by submitting via on-line nomination process, to include photo, completed scorecard and all other supporting data. DMs will receive a report from their HRD for final review and endorsement to be completed by September 1st annually Additional, optional recognition opportunities to be included in the Awards Ceremony agenda: CARES Stories – SVP submits Top 10 CARES stories as rated by designated operating area selection team, i.e., PRE Culture Champions, Senior Area Team or SVP Presidential Citations Spirit of Sodexo Area Nominees/Recipients Food & Physical Safety “100% Club” Energy Star Award Anniversaries Chef Competition Awards August Selection MeetingExample Meeting Live meeting or conference call format conducted to review all nominees and vote on recipients. Meeting format: SVP/HRD Facilitate meeting. Attendees include area senior leadership members; SVP, HRD, DM’s, Finance, Sales 1.HRD prepares and distributes Area Scorecard spreadsheets with all nominees by category to the team. 2.SVP or HRD announces each category and each nominee’s DM presents his/her candidate to the rest of the participants and “makes a case” for his/her nominee. 3.After all nominee presentations have been completed for the specific award category, each participant votes for who they feel should be the recipient. Ballots are submitted using a secret ballot process to the SVP or HRD (if meeting is conducted via conference call, participants can send a to the SVP & HRD). 4.After all votes are tallied, HRD presents the next award category and process is repeated. August – September Award SelectionsOption A: During live meeting or conference call, SVP announces the recipient for each category and HRD sends SVP Admin. a summary sheet for award ordering. Option B: HRD prepares a summary sheet of voting process to the SVP for review and final approval. SVP approves recipients and submits to HRD. HRD submits to SVP Admin for processing award ordering. (If using Option B In an effort to maintain confidentiality of the recipients until announced at the award ceremony, the HRD identifies the top (3) candidates (most votes) for each award category. DM’s are asked to be prepared to present a brief description (4-5 lines), should their nominee win the award.) August – September

2 ActionDescriptionCompletion Date Ordering Awards; Esteem Pass Gift Cards and Award trophies SVP Admin orders all trophies through our approved vendor, Inkwell, and Esteem Pass gift cards. (See R&R website for approved trophy selection.) September Awards CeremonySee included Award Ceremony examples. May choose to create storyboards for each award category with nominees for viewing at annual area meeting or Award pamphlets. Sample pamphlets and ceremony themes available on R&R webpage. September – November FUTURE: Post -Awards Ceremony After annual awards celebration, HRD submits list of Award Category Recipient(s) to National Health Care Committee for national recognition.
