Introduction to HS Motion Group

What is HS Motion Group? An alliance between Horner Automation Group and Servotronix Motion Control, provides an all-in-one seamlessly integrated control & motion solution for machine builders.

The HS Motion Solution Cscape – HS Software with Integrated Motion OCS Controllers & I/O CDHD Servo Drives MTHD & PRO Series Servo Motors

The Bottom Line: HS Motion are added motion products to the Horner Product Basket ON TOP OF the normal automation products In North America, all motion products are managed, supported and stocked out of Indianapolis In the Midwest: – Some Distributors are Horner only – Some Distributors are HS Motion only – Some Distributors are Horner + HS Motion (Power/mation) HS motion products do require a separate purchase order Only Tek-matic in Rockford overlaps in this area

Good Initial Targets Existing Horner Accounts with Motion Requirements Accounts with a need for Motion, but whose primary knowledge base is ladder logic Accounts which would like an integrated solution, but are unable or unwilling to make the learning curve investment in competitive solutions from companies like B&R and others

Example Industries / Applications Metal Fab (especially feeders) Water Jet Cutters Material Handling & Packaging (not form-fit-seal) Medical Equipment & Some SEMI Non-Coordinated Motion Indexing Currently No High-speed Embedded Motion Profile Downloads Currently No Precision Master-Slaving (we can do gearing, but currently require the use of scripting in the drive)

The HS Motion Solution Cscape – HS Software with Integrated Motion OCS Controllers & I/O CDHD Servo Drives MTHD & PRO Series Servo Motors

Customer Benefits Seamless integration Easy installation Single-source accountability Ease-of-use for experienced & novice users Minimal Fieldbus knowledge & experience required Streamlined network configuration Dynamic auto-tuning Stock and Service in NA (Indianapolis) Regional support

Cscape Programming Environment Shorter time to machine commissioning is the key to the HS Motion solution Cscape programming motion software combines PLC, HMI, networking, and motion programming into one tightly coupled virtual environment. Features: Single point-of-connect from Cscape to OCS to drive Simplified network configuration Integrated software tools Motion control function blocks Benefits: Decreasing program development time Ease-of-use from novice to seasoned programmer Seamless integration of control, drive and motor configuration

OCS Controllers: Powerful all-in-one controllers that combine robust, reliable control for your entire operation with an interactive, high-resolution operator interface, built-in and remote I/O availability and abundant connectivity options: Features: High performance logic controller with online programming Variable size touch screens with the XL series 3.5” QVGA - 7” WVGA with 1000 nits of brightness to the ZX 15” XVGA color touch screen that includes video output port Built in Digital and Analog I/O USB 2.0 Ports and Built in CAN ports 32 GB microSD Slots Benefits: Make programming logic changes on-the-fly increasing efficiency and making tasks easier Various touch screen options allow for a variety of environmental temperatures and viewing ease Supports an integrated Web Server, FTP Host, , Modbus/TCP and Master/Slave and Programming Fieldbus flexibility Virtually Unlimited Data Logging

I/O: SmartRail The Smart Rail I/O system offers your choice of fieldbus networks (CsCAN, Ethernet and CANopen). Apply SmartRail as local expansion I/O or remote I/O, which is capable of being distributed over large areas within your facility. Features: Flexible fieldbus selection Local and remote I/O Compact design Highly expandable Benefits: Flexible fieldbus allows for multiple network usage such as: CsCAN, Ethernet, CANopen® and Profibus Ease of use for onsite and network configuration over long distances – expansion of 8 modules per base and 16 bases per network SmartRail I/O Base is 3.5”H x 2.375”W – with a depth of only 1.75”. The SmartRail can support 128 I/O points in a footprint of less than 3.5”H x 8.75”W SmartRail can support as many as 256 digital I/O points and 32 analog I/O points per base. This can allow the number of I/O to grow to literally the limits of the OCS I/O memory space

CDHD Servo Drives: World class servo performance with feature -rich functionality, packed in a cost effective, high power density drive. Features: Power Ranges: 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 20, 24 A RMS; 120, 240 &480VAC Communication via Analog commands, Pulse & Direction, CANopen®, EtherCAT® and PROFINET® High current loop bandwidth High power density Tracking Error & Settling Time are almost ZERO Anti-vibration control algorithms eliminates mechanical resonance in highly flexible resonant systems CE and UL compliance Benefits: One product model handles all feedback types and I/O requirements, eliminating the need for additional part numbers or special extension devices Advanced control algorithms for optimal machine cycling time, resulting in maximum accuracy and throughput Greater flexibility with regards to the mechanical structure, resulting in lower machine cost High reliability with Energy efficient machine

Motion Blocks Motion Control Function Blocks are a convenient way for Motion to be Initiated from the OCS Controller. When triggered in logic, parameters and instructions are sent over the network and executed by the drive.

Motion Blocks This block defines the homing function. Homing has 32 different options for the homing method as per CANopen DS402 Motion profile. The homing cycle command will only be sent upon the falling edge of the input trigger. This command is only valid if the drive is in ‘Homing’ mode.

Motion Blocks This block defines the absolute move for the drive. The command is only valid when the drive is in ‘Position’ mode. The units for the move are those set during configuration. The absolute position zero is the start-up position of the drive if a homing cycle is not performed. Absolute moves are referenced to the zero position. The command is sent on the falling edge of the input trigger. Power is passed immediately the input is active (high). The move is performed using the acceleration and deceleration defined during configuration or set using the acceleration and deceleration blocks.

Motion Blocks This block defines the relative move for the drive. The command is only valid when the drive is in ‘Position’ mode. The units for the move are those set during configuration. The relative target position is relative to the current position and can be considered as an offset from the current position. The command is sent on the falling edge of the input trigger. Power is passed immediately the input is active (high). The move is performed using the acceleration and deceleration defined during configuration or set using the acceleration and deceleration blocks.

Motion Blocks This block defines a constant Velocity to move the motor at. The current acceleration and deceleration limits will be used to start and stop this move. This command is only valid when the drive is in ‘Velocity’ mode.
