3 University of Johannesburg (UJ) & Library & Information Center (LIC) University of Johannesburg (2005+) - Merger of Technikon Witwatersrand, Rand Afrikaans and Vista Universities - Over 45,000 students -9 Faculties -4 Campuses -Faculty of Science (14 Departments) -Library on each Campus -Over 130 databases

4 UJ Institutional Repository (IR): UJDigispase (http://ujdigispace.uj.ac.za:8080/dspace/)http://ujdigispace.uj.ac.za:8080/dspace/ The IR project started in 2007 ) Parties involved in the development (Library IT, Copyright officer & Rare Book Collection staff) DSpace software was used From 2008 all new Theses & Dissertations (T & D) were uploaded directly into UJDigispace UJDigispace officially launched on 24 March 2009 By mid-2009, all online T & D from the old system were uploaded/migrated into UJDigispace Department of Industrial Psychology & Human Management was used as pilot project. Vacant post for IR Manager/Administrator During October 2008 & early 2009: IR was introduced to the Library Staff Marketing not as such, because of the vacancy Future plans: Interest from Engineering Faculty & Botany Department
