It allows the integration of powerful IT solutions like VoIP phone systems to replace classical walkie- talkies, use of Infrared IP cameras to provide night vision to the crane operators during night shifts… Moreover the systematic generalization of integration of aerospace components makes the SK offering revolutionary and unique. THE CONCEPT The anticollision concept developed by SK consists in giving some kind of articial intelligence to a mobile allowing to avoid any risk of collision with its environment composed of heterogeneous mobiles and motionless obstacles. It is a formal and universal system that can adapt itself to every kind of mobiles: cranes, planes, trains, ships, cars, robots… Furthermore the system is based on ‘object oriented’ technology that allows the integration of heterogeneous mobiles.. THE PRINCIPLE : THE DYNAMIC AND TEMPORAL SAFETY COCOON According to the data given by the sensors (positions, speed, weight and inertia, wind speed and direction…) the system calculates a dynamic and temporal safety area called ‘dynamic and temporal safety cocoon’. The onboard radar allows to identify its risk environment, i.e. the whole neighbouring safety cocoons formed by the other mobiles and motionless obstacles. The system then estimates the collision risk and takes all the corrective measures via its automatic pilot in case of needs to avoid any intersection between the mobile’s cocoon and the neighbooring cocoons. Then the calculation of risk module estimates the collision risk of the mobile and sends it to the decision expert system : - If there is no risk nothing is done - If the risk becomes important, the pilot is warned : graph, audio, vocal and sound - If the risk is critical, the pilot is warned and optionally the autopilot starts a collision avoidance process
