Our beloved Prophet (S) lived a very simple and modest life. He (S) and his (S) family used to go without cooking meal for several days / even months at a time, relied on only dry dates and water. During the days he (S) was the busiest man, he (S) performed his duties in many roles all at once as head of state, chief justice, commander-in-chief, arbitrator, instructor, preacher and family man. He (S) was the most devoted man at night. He (S) used to spend one- to two-thirds of every night in prayer and meditation [Quran: Surah Al-Muzzammil: 73:20]. Our beloved Prophet’s possession consisted of mats, blankets, jugs and other simple things even when he was the President of the Muslim State. He left nothing to be inherited except a white mule (a gift from Muqawqis), few ammunition and a piece of land that he had got as a gift during his life time. Oh Allah shower Your mercy on our beloved Prophet (S), His family members, His Companions (RA), Tabein, TabeTabein and all His followers who are alive or dead. Ameen.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: Do not make my grave a place for worship you just recite Durood as Allah conveys your Durood to me. [Nisai]. Hazrat Ali (RA) said: The last words that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) spoke were, “The prayer, the prayer! And fear Allah with regard to those whom your right hands possess.” Abu Dawood & Ibn Maajah.
