MBA Internship Opportunity at The Dow Chemical Company
Marketing Assignments Program (MAP) The Dow Chemical Company is seeking MBA students for marketing internships. The primary emphasis of these internships is value growth, whether through opportunity assessment, product/service launch, or customer/product optimization. What is the Marketing Assignments Program? MBA students entering Dow’s Marketing Assignments Program (MAP) as interns have an opportunity to participate in Dow’s transformational effort. MAP interns will be assigned to a three month project in the marketing, product management, or new business assessment category. During this project, the intern will be an active member of a Dow business, and have opportunity to apply and further develop his/her marketing skill set. Successful interns will be evaluated as candidates to join Dow’s 18 – 24 month MAP rotational program, a feeder pool for permanent marketing roles. Typical MAP projects include: Developing understanding of market trends, needs and structure Providing opportunity recommendations on new markets or industries to pursue Developing new business ideas and shaping a hypothesis to create value Conducting a value chain analysis for a particular market/industry Creating value models to identify value creation of new product/service offerings Conducting competitive analysis Participating in the implementation of a new business concept and strategic plan Who are we seeking for the Marketing Assignments Programs? A technical undergraduate degree is desired, but not required. Undergraduate degrees in the fields of chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemistry make for particularly attractive candidates. Candidates with at least 2 – 4 years post-undergrad work experience prove to be strong MAP’s; this experience need not be with a capital intensive organization, or within the chemical/plastics industry. We look for individuals who have strong analytical skills, yet are innovators. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently. Strength in financial analysis and value chain analysis is important and experience with creative business models is helpful.
