She had to risk the chance of her infant son named Jean-Baptist dying or getting sick. The chance of her getting sick. The chance of loosing her son from being taking away from her.
Sacagawea was 16 years old when she had her infant son the same day she was sent out for the expedition for Lewis and Clark. The expedition lasted at least 16 months which crossed 1/3 of what is now the united states. She was captured and sold to a Mandan Toussaint Charbonneau
