The contributor also acknowledges and accepts that this contribution may be made public by IEEE Patent Policy and Procedures: The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802 Patent Policy and Procedures, including the statement "IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder or applicant with respect to patents essential for compliance with both mandatory and optional portions of the standard." Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE Working Group. 2 doc.: IEEE /0132r0 Submission May, 2008 Gabor BajkoSlide 2 This document contains incomplete proposals Detailed proposal to be worked out upon agreement on the discussion points

3 doc.: IEEE /0132r0 Submission May, 2008 Gabor BajkoSlide 3 Public Credential IE Can be imported from the.11u spec: The IE Lists: –Username, password for ES call access purpose –The authentication type control (tunnel/no tunnel) If tunnel mode, then EAP or PPP If no tunnel mode, then the EAP method in use Once the STA in state1 using GAS to access MIH IS, downloads this IE, it can use the username/password to authenticate (using the specified method) and start placing ES call

4 doc.: IEEE /0132r0 Submission May, 2008 Gabor BajkoSlide 4 Local Emergency Dialstring IE Some of the Local Emergency Dialstrings are today configured in the phones, cellular networks also recognize them Since local dialstrings have different meaning in different locations, roaming cases are complicated (classic problem) IETF ECRIT has specified a ‘LoST’ database, which would (if deployed) contain the location specific dialstrings, downloadable using the LoST protocol An MN must have network access to get access to the information in the LoST database STAs in unauthenticated state do not have access. But they can get access to MIH IS using.11u procedures Proposal: define an IE which contains one dialstring or a list of dialstrings applicable in the location of the PoA –(List of) PoA specific dialstring(s) and the ES type which can be reached, when the dialstring is dialed

5 doc.: IEEE /0132r0 Submission May, 2008 Gabor BajkoSlide 5 IE for other local dialstrings to which an MN would want access in unauthenticated state Are there any? E.g., pizza delivery, number of the closest pharmacy, etc.?
