How do Bones and Muscles Work Together?
Bones and Muscles Your bones and muscles have to work together in order for you to move. Most of the body’s bones are associated with muscles. Muscles can only contact or shorten. They pull on bones in order to move. Muscles work in pairs to move your bones. One muscle contracts while the other muscle relaxes.
How do muscles move your bones? Use the model to answer the following questions. GENTLY pull on the muscles to determine how the muscles and bones work together to make the body move. Do not touch the bones (wooden pieces). You may hold onto the base. Pull only on the fishing line or the metal rings. Do not pull on the labels.
How do Bones and Muscles Work Together in order to move the Body? How do you make the arm model bend? How do you make the arm model straighten? What happens when you GENTLY pull on both muscles? How can you use the bicep muscle to straighten the arm?
Describe how your arm muscles work together to bend and straighten. Type of Movement Muscle Contacting (pulling) Muscle Relaxing (not pulling) Arm is bending Arm is straightening
