Using Web Quest as a source of presenting culture to the students Т. А. Кузнецова Заслуженный Учитель России.
What is Web Quest? It’s an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the Internet.
Reasons for using Web Quest An easy way for teachers to begin to incorporate the Internet into the language classroom. They are group activities and as a result tend to lend them to communication and the sharing of knowledge. They encourage critical thinking. They can be both motivating and authentic tasks.
They can be used both linguistically and cross –curricular They encourage learners to view the activities they are doing “real” or “useful”
Structure of a Web Quest Title. The introduction stage is normally used to introduce the overall theme of the web quest. It introduces key vocabulary and concepts. The task section explains what the learners will have to do as they work their way through the web quest.
The process stage guides the learners through a set of activities and research tasks The evaluation stage can involve learners in self-evaluation, comparing and contrasting what they have produced and giving feedback
