26 My Canmore – personal response History of premises Posted by Tom Caldwell on 14 June 2010Tom Caldwell I believe that this was the premises of my grandfather Tom Caldwell's "Lemonade" factory from some time in the 1930's until he sold the business to the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society in 1949. The SCWS set up a chain of soft drink factories trading as "Hendry's". The property including the adjoining residence was known as "Shawbank" East Shaw Street Kilmarnock. Any further information on the history of the building or of the firm will be welcomed. Probably wartime by the get up of the truck – same building from a different direction – truck is a Commer Raider. Factory used to supply Prestwick Air Base with “Lemonade” during WWII.

27 My Canmore - headline results 280,000 recorded sites 3 million Collection items 130,000 digital images available 2135 registered users 2,900 public image contributions to 1,150 sites 500 public text contributions to 360 sites

28 My Canmore – trends 20/80 rule evident in images 72% of contributors uploaded <5 images 5 users contributed > 100 images each 1 user contributed nearly 400 images Text contributions significantly less, but more evenly distributed Comparatively little evidence of users interacting with one another (<20 in 500)

29 My Canmore – development issues Security of images Geo-referencing Browsing Copyright/legality ‘Correct this’ function? User involvement – 20/80 rule? Promoting interaction Promoting/steering contributions Encourage better captioning
