13 Activity 2  Log in to the Education Image GalleryEducation Image Gallery Browse for images related to your research  Look at the terms and conditions of this collection Can you use the images on a personal website? Can you use the images in a conference presentation?

14 EIG search techniques  Standard search: Truncate words. An asterisk at the end of the word will search for zero or more letters at the end of the word eg. Scot* will find: scots, Scotland, Scottish etc  Advanced search: Combine search items from a choice of indexes.

15 Best practice  Images difficult to copy without infringing copyright…  If you don’t own the image check for terms of use  Displaying images in class for criticism & review  Duplicates of images on handouts, PPTs and networks

16 Activity 3: Terms and conditions for using images  Most websites will have a copyright statement or terms and conditions – check this before using it  Can you use images from the following websites in your teaching without permission? 18 Conclusion  Many resources available on the Internet  Difficulty is finding quality resources!  Important to find copyright free resources or check for terms and conditions.  Always ask permission if in doubt.  Permission advice can be obtained from CLT.
