Bangladesh, India. Caused because deltas. Deltas are able to grow fast Low-lying islands are very vulnerable to floods Poor comunications 1987, 1988 and 1991 were of catastrophic consequence.
Recent floods in 2004 and : affected 57,300 km 2 of land, (about 40% of the total area of the country) 1988: 82,000 Km2 (about 60%). 1998: over 75% of the country area was flooded. 18 major floods occurred in the 20th century. 2004: over half of country was under water.
