What is Air Resistance? By Sahil Gandhi
Air Resistance is Air has particles in it. They are called atoms and molecules. When something moves in the air the atoms and molecules push against it.
Friction This force is called air resistance. It slows down objects in the air the same way friction does.
3rd Law of Motion When you are Parachuting it is an example of Newtons’ third law of motion. If you are biking and you lean your head forward. You can feel the air resistance pushing against you.
Three parachute men’s mass Height of drop Trial one Trial two Trial three Average time 1. 6 grams 2 meters 0.72 Sec Sec Sec Sec grams 2 meters 0.87 Sec Sec Sec Sec grams 2 meters 0.60 Sec Sec Sec.
Answer The answer to my project is air resistance slows you down when you are parachuting. If there was no air resistance in the air you would go straight down and hit the ground when you are parachuting.
Experiment In my experiment a had three parachute men of different sizes. Then I dropped them from 2 meters. I figured out that the parachute with more weight came down a little faster then the one the least weight.
