Slope-Intercept From 3
Goal Given a table of data, find an equation of the line in the y=mx+b form.
Step 1 Write original equation: y=mx+b
Step 3 Plug the slope in for m into y=mx+b
Step 4 Check to see if x=0 is a point. If so, that y- value is the y intercept. Plug that number in for b.
Step 5 Of x=0 is NOT a point, then we must find b. Pick any point from the list and plug it in for x and y. Then solve for b. Plug b into final equation.

Finding Slope – Intercept From an Equation STEPS : 1. Equation must be in y = mx + b form 2. The slope is the coefficient of “x” ( m ) 3. The y - intercept.
Unit 1 Solving Linear Systems by Graphing
The table and graph suggest another method of graphing a linear equation. This method is based on two numbers. The SLOPE This is the coefficient of x.
y = mx + b What does the m and b represent?
Linear Equations Unit. Lines contain an infinite number of points. These points are solutions to the equations that represent the lines. To find.
